Syrians Flee Violence In Dangerous Nighttime Trek To Jordan

Syrian families made a break for northern Jordan as darkness fell. They are fleeing to save their lives. Many groups moving a crossed the border still hearing gun shots in the background. Many fleeing families has been shot at in the past two weeks and many people injured while trying to cross the border. The Border Guard in Jordan helped families into tents and given food to eat. The United Nations have estimated at least 60,000    people have died in twenty-two months of fighting between government forces and rebels seeking to depose president Bashar al-Assad. In recorded numbers Syrians crossing into Jordan, with at least 350,000 refugees have flown into Jordan since the beginning of the Syrian conflict.

Suspended For Talk Of Shooting A Hello Kitty Bubble Gun

A 5 year old from Pennsylvania was talking to some of her classmates after school as they were waiting for the bus. The girl talking was talking about her Hello Kitty bubble gun that with a flick of her finger blows bubbles everywhere. "I'll shoot you, you shoot me, we'll play together" said the kindergartner. The next day after that remark was said, it landed the young child in the principal's office. The girl was sent home after being issued with a 10-day suspension for a "terroristic threat" . The girl was really upset even after they lowered the suspension from ten days to two.

New York School Bus Drivers Announce Strike Plan

   In New York City officials are preparing to transport 150,000 students after a school bus drivers union announced that they are planning on Wednesday if they cannot  reach a suitable agreement. Union officials representing Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1181, are seeking job security. Mayor Michael Bloomberg has bid out contracts for nearly 1,100 bus routes currently handled by  Local 1181 drivers. New contracts will save taxpayers $95 million over five years. Bloomberg is urging unions to not go on strike because he believes it will  jeopardize the education and safety of  150,000 students who take the bus every single day.

Chinese Journalist In Rare Protest Against Censorship

Crowds gathered at the headquarter of a Chinese newspaper on Monday. The people there to support a rare protest against alleged government censorship. the journalist claimed that  an editorial calling for political reform was censored and re-written as a tribute to communist party rule. Some posters were calling for press freedom. "We stand up now because we were pushed to the limit," said the journalist who will remain anonymous.The letter also said that the official had factual errors in it. If the strike goes ahead, it will be the first time a major Chinese newspaper has openly staged a strike in more than two decades.

Customer Puts Robber In Choke Hold

Customer at a Springfield Oregon Deli put a robber with a hatchet in a choke hold. The robber with a hatchet in his hand demanded money from an employee. The customer Daniel Gehrig was at a nearby slot machine when he heard Queener demanding money. " The guy trying to rob the place had no idea I was behind him" Gehrig said. Daniel made sure he evaluated the situation before he tackled the man. "I choked him out until he gave up, I did not even think I acted. It was not about my safety, it was about helping the cashier" Queener was charged with first degree robbery.
